1189 [S2E4] - Numbers In An Hour

Go ahead and grab your Bible and open it up to the book of Numbers. This is one of those books that people tend to skip because of the name, but don't. God is taking His people from Mount Sinai to the edge of the Promised Land, and along the way, He’s trying to form them into a nation that actually trusts Him. What ends up happening is that people literally can't seem to figure out what to do, despite God telling them exactly what he wants. And because of that, they miss it. They wander for forty years while God prepares the next generation to take the land. And through all of it, He stays faithful, He stays present, and He keeps moving His people forward.

1189 [S2E3] - Leviticus In An Hour

Go ahead and open your Bible to Leviticus, and this is usually where most people bow out of their New Year's resolution to read through the whole Bible, but there's literally so much good stuff in here. This is God inviting His people to live differently, to be set apart — and it’s not just about rules, it’s about relationship. The sacrifices, the purity laws, the priesthood — all of it is God creating a way to dwell with a sinful people without destroying them. And all of it points forward to Jesus, who fulfills every offering, every ritual, and makes the presence of God available to us now. Leviticus is a doorway to understanding the holiness and nearness of God.

1189 [S2E2] - Exodus In An Hour

We’re jumping into Exodus, which literally means “exit,” and it’s all about God pulling his people out of slavery in Egypt. We meet Moses, the basket baby turned burning bush guy, who ends up leading the greatest jailbreak of all time because God calls him and says, “I Am Who I Am.” The plagues? They’re not just chaos; they’re God systematically dismantling Egypt’s entire spiritual system, one fake god at a time. Then we get to the Passover, which is this massive prophetic arrow pointing straight to Jesus, blood on the doorpost, freedom through sacrifice, the whole deal. After the Red Sea miracle and some wilderness drama (including Moses’ sister dancing with a tambourine), the second half of the book shifts hard into law, blueprints, and how to actually live as free people. And it all ends with this beautiful, insane moment: God’s glory literally filling the Tabernacle — because the goal wasn’t just escape, it was always presence.

I really believe this is going to be helpful, not just for understanding the stories, but for seeing the whole narrative arc—creation, fall, covenants, and redemption—all the way through Jesus.
